The challenge for rebranding Westpac branches across Australia was to give people a reason to visit branches when most banking transactions are no further than a click away.
The design concept brought Westpac branches back to a local level with a focus on context and community. “With the emphasis on making the branch more real, more human.”
To create those connections with local community three different material palettes were utilised, each palette was specific to the branch’s context – city, suburban or regional – and respected the history and individuality of the branch building. The materials used in the fit-out were a sophisticated blend of neutral tones with a splash of red in the signage.
Like the rest of the rebranded Westpac branches the new branch design made use of eye-catching signage – referred to as ‘conversation starters’ – to advertise the bank’s services and introduce employees and the bank manager.
When engaged our value engineering input provides guidance on planning efficiencies to review design, prototyping signage elements to ensure multiple site adaptability, material availability, suitability and durability, manufacturing techniques, freight, logistics and installation.
