Not only was the store the Largest Ikea store in the Southern Hemisphere it also set a record for the largest 3 dimensional signage letters ever manufactured and installed in the Southern Hemisphere. The largest set of IKEA letters on the site are on the front façade facing Springvale Road having an individual letter height of 6000mm. The architectural wall panel required the use of specialised brackets to be fitted from behind to support the large letters on all sides of the building. Due to the letter size the letters were built in component form and assembled on site. Careful planning around the logistics of assembly meant understanding the first floor loading dock area had the capacity to support the specialized lifting equipment to meet site OHS requirements.
